This route is a typical representative of the classic selection of ‘iron routes’ in the Slovenian mountains. The route stretches across solid rock with some of its parts offering true Grade IV difficulty. It distinguishes itself by having the difficult spots distributed proportionately along the whole route and by featuring scenic and exposed climbing in the upper part of the route. This route offers many alternative variants. Its exit is most often climbed by the Zimmer-Jahn variant that cuts the route by 200 m and is popularly known as ‘the Short German Route’. By climbing the N Ridge the route extends for more than 300 m and thus leads you magically to the summit of the Slovenian pride, Triglav.

Descent: From the end of the face by the Prag Route and along this route to the Vrata Valley (2.5–3.5 hours) or from the summit of Triglav to the Vrata Valley (3–4 hours)
